Separating Anxiety from Reality

Every Monday morning during our weekly meeting at CYL, we take some time to become inspired in creative ways. We encourage each other to think outside the box, reflect on the little things as well as the overall big picture, and simply become encouraged and motivated for the week.

This morning Emma shared inspirational quote cards from an author that she thoroughly enjoys- Eckhard Tolle. One of the cards that I read struck me as a seemingly perfect quote for my week.

This morning when I opened up my calendar, I became overwhelmed with the amount of work that I have on my plate and how little time I have to complete it. Then I read this quote and it made me sit back, think about the reality of the situation and relax (even if only for a minute or two).

It appears that September has been a pretty busy month for everyone, and so I wanted to share this inspirational quote in hopes that it may inspire you and calm the anxious/nervous jitters that busy weeks tend to bring upon us.

“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts
about it. Be aware of the thoughts you are thinking. Separate them from the
situation, which is always neutral, which is always is as it as.” -Eckhard Tolle

Sometimes we become so caught up in the thinking that we forget about the doing, and then it just becomes a domino effect of stress. But after reading that quote… I say BRING IT. This week is going to be productive. This week is going to be successful. This week is going to be happy.
