My first blog is an nontraditional one. I am not blogging to speak of my morning or a running summary of my day, no this is an apologetic blog entry. I must repent a wrong-doing to an acquaintance from years back.
It all started when I met a kid by the name of BJ. We both loved fishing so much that we would fish all day everyday during the summer and even skip some school days when no one was watching. I’d say I spent a good 75,000 hours fishing with BJ throughout the years. Now BJ was the son of a local legend of a fishing guide. So we had access to a lot of knowledge and a lot of gear. This is where the wrong-doing began.
BJ and I had a lot of tackle but we were not old enough to drive so this presented a problem for our bikes. BJ knew of a kid, Jacek, (but we called him Frank because his name was to fancy) who just moved here from Poland who didn’t know a lot of English but was eager to make friends. On top of that the kid had one of those big beach cruiser bikes with a giant basket on the front. We befriended Frank, or Jacek sorry Frank only reason being for use of his bike. Jacek never complained much about being our Sherpa, he was just glad that he had a couple “friends”.
We took Jacek everywhere, seven mile bridge, vaca cut, banana bay, oncoming traffic, bayside, oceanside, here and yonder (where ever the hell yonder is). Whenever we needed to move we would just yell to Jacek, “Frank, get the shit!”I’ve felt bad about it since I began my maturing process 6 months ago. I don’t know if BJ feels all that bad about it or if Jacek is now his first mate on his charter boat. Ya see after I lost contact with BJ he became quite the fishing guide himself and has even been profiled on Fox Sports Net.
Anyway once and for all I would like to put this behind me.
FRANK I’M SORRY!
