What You and Your CEO Can Learn From Chameleons In Terms of Flexibility: Chameleons are Silly Putty

Who's your role model? A person? Mine is a reptile. My role model is a species of chameleons that can change & adapt at lightning speed. Chameleons understand how to be silly putty, perhaps better than any animal on this planet.

If senior leadership, management or any human could adapt at the speed of a chameleon we'd be better suited for the changes we face on a daily basis.

Why do we need lightning quick adaptability? Because today's challenges are not tomorrow's. Tomorrow's are not the week after. Every day the market conditions change and our position, where we fit in the minds of our customers changes, and the position of our competitors change.
If we fail to adapt to those changes and/or lack the flexibility to see those changes we increase our risk of failure. Simply look at the number of companies from Jim Collins' Good to Great that have now failed due to a lack of flexibility; and these WERE great companies.

To get a better understanding of what it means to change on a dime or on a sunglass check out the amazing video below. Keep watching and see what happens when the speed of change increases. Then figure out how you can be more like silly putty and more like a chameleon.
